Laminated glass is a kind of safety glass, which is very common in the architectural glass category. It consists of two or more pieces of glass, sandwiched between one or more layers of organic polymer intermediate film, after special high temperature prepressing (or vacuum) and high temperature and high pressure treatment, so that the glass and the intermediate film permanently bonded as one. It has the performance of shock-proof, anti-theft and explosion-proof. We often use PVB, SGP and EVA films in the production process. In addition, there are some more special laminated glass such as colored intermediate film.

Among them, PVB laminated glass is the most popular, and the usual standard thickness of PVB film is 0.38mm, 0.76mm, 1.52mm, 2.28mm; The thickness of the laminated film should meet the requirements of the combined film process to avoid degumming or bubbles. It is generally recommended that the PVB film thickness of laminated glass applied to the exterior curtain wall of the building be at least 1.52mm.
The biggest role of the PVB film layer in the laminated glass is that even if it is broken by impact, due to the bonding effect of the PVB film, the debris will still stick to the film, and the entire broken glass surface will remain clean and smooth, and will not disperse, so it has become the first choice for many building installations. The strength of laminated glass made of tempered glass will be greatly improved, and the fragments will become obtuse small particles similar to honeycomb, which effectively prevents the fragments from stabbing and falling, and is not easy to cause serious injury to the human body and ensure personal safety.

Deep processing of laminated glass

Because the tempered glass has the physical characteristics of self-explosion, the tempered glass still has security risks to a certain extent. Laminated tempered glass is processed with tempered glass. Compared with ordinary tempered glass, laminated glass with PVB film superposition has more reliable safety performance, and will not fall off after self-explosion or being crushed, which can ensure the safety of pedestrians or items under the building within a certain period of time. At the same time, the fragments are small obtuse particles, reducing the risk factor.
Of course, the composite laminated glass can also be used as a glass substrate, and then deeply processed into other glass configurations, such as hollow laminated LOW-E coated glass, which integrates the advantages of other glass to meet the performance requirements of various projects.

Advantages of laminated glass

In Europe and America, most of the building glass is laminated glass, which is not only to avoid injury accidents, but also because laminated glass has excellent sound insulation and UV protection ability. This is because the PVB glue has a strong barrier effect on the sound wave, the sound wave is significantly weakened when passing through the laminated glass, reducing the noise interference of the work place or family life, to maintain a quiet and comfortable office environment. At the same time, it has a very good anti-ultraviolet effect (anti-ultraviolet rate of more than 90%), which not only protects people's skin health, weakens the transmission of sunlight, reduces the energy consumption of refrigeration, but also prevents indoor valuable furniture, exhibits, artworks and other items from fading due to the influence of ultraviolet light.

Laminated glass has many advantages, widely used in architectural grilles, high-altitude platforms, high-grade curtain wall doors and Windows, furniture, window, aquarium and other items and occasions, used in home decoration will also have unexpected good results.
